About IANFB

The International Alliance for Non-Flying Birds is an international organization founded in 1987. IANFB’s mission is to further the understanding of the planet’s most valuable bird species; namely those who choose not to fly, but to swim, run, walk or waddle.

Leadership

The Secretary-General of the International Alliance for Non-Flying Birds is a symbol of the Organization’s ideals and a spokesbird for the interests of the world’s non-flying animals. The current Secretary-General of the IANFB, and the fifth occupant of the post, is Dr. A.J. Tučniak of Antarctica, who took office on November 23, 2017. The IANFB Charter describes the Secretary-General as “chief administrative officer” of the Organization.
