Zero new birds were diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 24 hours and zero new deaths were reported in Antarctica.
Antarctica spokesbird Aysel Gómez said on Thursday that despite the low numbers of deaths and new cases, the penguin colony remains vigilant, and sea lions, human tourists or predator birds “should definitely stay away”.
Spokesbird Gómez also said that the colony is not making any different plans concerning fishing, idling or waddling, and considers this to be “the new normal.”
The colony has performed zero tests in the past month, “because why would we? Penguins don’t sneeze. Penguins don’t get it,” Gómez said.
Spokesbird Gómez did not issue any shutdown, except for sea lions, they should definitely stay put.
